Malvern Fire Conference 2006

Sunday, January 15th, 2006

A group from Struthers, comprised of young adults from Greenock, Glasgow, Neath and Pudsey, joined the youth of Malvern Pentecostal Church for a conference January 6-8. This was held at a large country house, Dyke House, which is an excellent Christian retreat venue in Ledbury close to Malvern in the West Midlands (pictured). In total 25 people were in residence with another 3 joining for the meetings. God significantly blessed the weekend with His presence. Three of the four meetings were held at Dyke House on Friday pm, Saturday am and pm. The final service was at Malvern Pentecostal Church led by the young people, with the singing making a particular impact! The theme of the conference was “Seeking God” and focused on the practicalities of living in and carrying His presence in our daily lives. Many of those who were there commented on the life-changing impact of God’s work in their lives during the conference. A selection of these testimony’s can be found at the website of The Overcomers – the Malvern young people’s group. Neil and Kate Robertson would like to thank Struthers Church for their generous support of this event, both in terms of personnel, finance and, most importantly, prayer.

Sarah Harbinson leaves for Rwanda

Monday, January 9th, 2006

Our Glasgow church has just said farewell for the next two years to one of our members, Sarah Harbinson who is leaving us to work in Rwanda with VSO. Sarah gave a wonderful testimony to the saving, baptising, keeping power of the Lord Jesus Christ and spoke to us about the work she will be doing in Rwanda, showing a powerpoint presentation of a previous working trip in the country.

Sarah has been in our congregation for three years, joining us as a result of the Open Air work in Buchanan Street and we wish her God speed on her journey and every blessing as she reaches out in a war torn land, extending the love of Jesus Christ to those around her. God Bless you Sarah.

Malvern Fire Conference

A team from Struthers Memorial Church in Scotland will be joining with Malvern Pentecostal Church for a Youth Conference at Malvern this weekend. Links between the young adults of both churches have strengthened over recent years with a number of visits from Struthers Memorial Church members to Malvern and vice-versa. A similar conference was held in Malvern last year which was blessed significantly by God and deeply impacted the lives of young people from Malvern, Wales and Scotland. The conference begins on Friday evening with meetings on Saturday am and pm, concluding with the Team leading the morning service at Malvern Pentecostal Church.

For more information contact Neil or Kate Robertson on 07939 861 213. All young people welcome!

Report on the 2005 New Year Conference

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Our 2005 New Year Conference has just finished and was tremendously blessed by the presence of God. People gathered from all over the United Kingdom for our series of meetings which began on Saturday night (31 December 2005). There were 5 meetings in total with a mixture of singing, testimony and preaching on each occasion. There was a considerable amount of personal ministry and the response of the congregation was very positive. There would probably be about 500 people there attending meetings over the weekend. On the final Sunday night meeting our Greenock church was at capacity when Mrs Grace Gault preached a sermon which expanded the theme of our New Year Word. Coming out of the conference was an enthusiasm that God was with our church to bless us and that the year ahead would be blessed with his presence.
