Podcast #41: Saturday, September 9th 2006

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, September 9th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Miss J. Jack.

Speaking Notes

I count all things but loss, that I might know Him. He was used of God, but was hungry for God himself. We know Him first by something of the power of His resurrection, and then by the fellowship of His sufferings. The miraculous touched earth at His birth, followed by Herod’s fury. Christ’s baptism followed by His temptation. In suffering, hold on to Christ, all other props will be removed. Christ’s disciples were at the feeding of the 5,000 – it was miraculous. Immediately after, they went out to sea and there was a storm. The phenomenal strengthens us to go through darkness and to be changed. We must learn to find Him and trust Him in darkness in order to progress. The raising of Lazarus was a phenomenal miracle that preceded the crucifixion. Suffering brings forth gold within us if we die to ourselves.

Podcast #40: Saturday, August 26th 2006

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, August 26th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G Gault.

Speaking Notes

Joshua and Achan’s sin. Achan told lies and didn’t realise the seriousness of the time he was in. It may not have been his first act of disobedience. The consequences were on the greater company. The soldiers were defeated by Ai. Achan admits his sin. There is something in human make up that doesn’t like to be told what to do. Keep short accounts with God. Let there come a love of purity. Let there be a putting away of known sin. It is a hallmark of God that we become uncomfortable with sin. Sin that is indulged and deliberately hidden should be brought to the blood of Christ. Be real with God.

Podcast #38: Saturday, August 19th 2006

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, August 19th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. Grace Gault.

Speaking Notes

Suffering for Christ in Ethiopia – going out-with the camp bearing the reproach of Christ. They threw Christ out of the city – we live for the world to come. There is a yearning for the youth in our church – if only just one would consecrate themselves deeply to Christ. Background given of the youth of Mary Black –her heart was with the world. She knew she had to give up a friendship which the caused persecution at school. This was the beginnings of the work in the university, the suffering of Alison Speirs after her salvation. She knew she was not to give up the ground she had already gained. Real consecration was made to Christ, and that was followed be deep blessing. Many things hold back young lives from real consecration. There is no place of deceiving God. Those who consecrate can be overwhelmed by God. There is great tragedy for those who delay, who have hidden idols.

Podcast #37: Saturday, August 12th 2006

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, August 12th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. Diana Rutherford.

Speaking Notes

Enlarge the place of your tent, I will go before you and break in pieces the gates of bronze. We are called to the salvation of souls. We must believe that God can use us if we want Him to. Look outwards to others. What will we do with what God has given us at camp? Our duty is to take out what we have found. Pray for opportunities to share the gospel – personal testimony given of how Diana was able to win others for Christ at school and college, moving to Cumbernauld and the surrounding areas. There must be belief and prayer and a paying of the price. We must not sit in security and comfort, but go out with the message. We must look with spiritual eyes, not at the outward appearances. Christ can do anything. There is no joy like bringing a soul to Christ.

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, August 5th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. Grace Gault.

Speaking Notes

Come, let us return to the Lord. At present we are between two camps, God has moved and will draw us yet deeper to Himself. Many people at camp come with the same problem again and again. Keep yourself watered and full of the life of Christ. Have wells that are deep, so that in times of drought you can still yield fruit. Don’t allow yourself to look back. Come to the point where there is a well of God springing up within you.

Podcast #35: Saturday, July 29th 2006

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, July 29th 2006 in our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. Diana Rutherford.

Speaking Notes

Let me go out and gather left over grain. God wants us to work for Him, emanating His presence. Follow and learn from the harvesters who have gone on before us. There I a time when God wants people to settle down and follow His ways. Don’t go to another field. Why do people have a need to go elsewhere when they know the power and presence of God? Do they really not want this level of depth of the searching light of God upon their lives? Stay right here beside the women in my field- a clear instruction to stay beside the workers of God. There, there is plenty to eat and drink. You are called to work and be utterly satisfied by stopping and drinking very deeply of the presence of Christ. Like Ruth, we are foreigners, yet He calls us and encourages us to feast. I hope I continue to please you sir – words of Ruth, how true of those of us who want to follow God. I’m not as worthy as your other workers. None of us are worthy to be a worker for Christ, but for the blood of Christ. Ruth was so full of food that she took some home. We should be so full of Christ that we are able to take Him to others.

Podcast Changes

Thursday, September 28th, 2006

As of a few weeks ago, the media files from our podcast archive moved from our own server to being hosted on Amazon S3. This means that historical links on this blog are no longer valid. However, all links on the wiki archive have been updated to reflect the new home for the media files.

From now on, we will be producing both AAC and MP3 versions of the podcast. AAC files provide much higher quality at the same file size as an MP3, but are not compatible with all players. MP3 files have poorer sound quality or are larger files, but can be played on more devices.
