Saturday, October 25th, 2008

This sermon was recorded on the evening of October 11th, 2008 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault.

Speaking Notes

Consider Him. Many saw Christ in difficult situations – in the storm – He was asleep despite the storm. The Prince of Peace. He will still the storms of fear and doubt in our hearts. Compassion with the natural hunger of those who came to hear. How much more will He satisfy our spiritual hunger. He is the healer of body and soul. The Man of Sorrows and acquainted with grief. The anguish of Calvary. In your grief, you need the Great Burden Bearer. Sometimes all you can do is come and lean upon the cross and consider Him. Our impression of what Christ is like is influenced by what others say about Him. Martin Luther was slowly influenced by reading the bible in direct opposition to the traditional teachings of the church. Who do you say that I am? Peter said – you are the Christ, the Son of the living God. To acknowledge that at last the Christ is here. This is my beloved and my friend. It is the holy spirit who reveals the things of Christ to us. You will discover this for yourself.

Speaking Notes

The importance of the anointing. Clear instruction is given of the anointing oil. It was a special oil used for the priests. Saul was anointed as king, then David. Queen Elizabeth II was also anointed, and she took it very seriously. David would not touch the Lord’s anointed. Those used by God are often severely criticised. The anointing of the Spirit is as a guide and teacher – Pentecostal power. The Asuza Street revival church was predominately ‘coloureds’, ostracised from mainstream society. We are open to the anointing in our meetings. Oil made of cinnamon (sweetness), myrrh (Christ), and Cassia (purity). Like a car, we cannot let the anointing oil dry out. Kathryn Kuhlman lost the anointing, but found it again through sacrifice. The anointing breaks every yoke – seek the anointing.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday, October 4th 2008 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. D. Rutherford.

Speaking Notes

Solomon and Shimei. If we really want God’s kingdom to be established in us, we must destroy our enemies. Confront the barriers and don’t slow down. Shimei had to die before Solomon could move on. We must become tough against ourselves, our enemies and sin. Cut them off, then comes the anointing. Store up treasures in heaven. Where your heart is, there is your treasure. Let you eye be single on God. Show only Christ to each other. Loyalty to God must come first. The King desires your beauty and life alone. The reality of heaven is crystal clear – it brings life, joy and healing. Face into reality. There is total liberty in Christ.
