Monday, March 30th, 2009

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Sunday March 29th, 2009 at our Greenock Church. The speaker is Mr Brian Rutten, a CAM Missionary working in Ethiopia. Please note that due to a technical problem, the Saturday Night sermon is unavailable. However, since Mr Rutten spoke that night, this recording from the Sunday night is similar. Also, the notes below are from the Saturday notes and are therefore not an exact match to the recording.Speaking Notes

Background of salvation and family history with Pentecost. Reference to the Ethiopian church and the persecution there, also of the miraculous happenings. The conversion of Muslims and one particular convert who is being used to spread the Word of God through many tribes. A tribal chief had a dream of Jesus. A child who had been raised form the dead led to 70 Muslims converting. The work within the Orthodox church. The expansion to neighbouring middle eastern countries. The power of Jesus Christ is the only power on earth that can save, heal and forgive. The world is starving for the bread of heaven and the water of life.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday March 21st, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Miss J. Jack. Speaking Notes

Examined – reference to her old English teacher. The Passover lamb had to be completely examined to be found acceptable and without fault. Christ was carefully examined and found faultless, therefore qualified to be the spotless Lamb. Examined by man and God and found faultless by all. As we come to Christ, we are examined in His holy light. We need forgiveness and cleansing. Unlike the natural, you cannot hide your true needs from God – He will fully examine you.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday March 14th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

The death and resurrection of Lazarus has many similar points as that of Christ’s. The family of Lazarus were tested in many ways. They loved Christ and looked to Him for help, but it looked as if everything had failed. We have to come to a place of dependency on God, and God alone. When He calls to you, do not delay going to Him. The power of Christ to help you overcome death – this was what the early Christians mostly talked about – He overcame death. We must arise into a new spiritual life with power from Christ to enter into the new resurrection life.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday March 7th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

Tell them that I love them. Love is from God. In spite of everything, He still loves us. Peter needed the love of Christ when he betrayed Christ. He said to cast all your cares upon Him. He knows us in our wilderness, and He is the burden bearer. He cares for each of us. We must choose Christ and believe that He takes our burdens and sets us free. We can become familiar with our burdens – give them to Him. He cares for every detail of our lives big and small. He wants us to be free. Cast your cares upon Him then resist the devil, steadfast in the faith. Resist the enemy. He will flee because Christ is stronger. Resist the devils lies. There is victory in Jesus. God intervenes for us. Bring your burdens to Him. He sets the prisoner free.

Sunday, March 1st, 2009

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday February 28th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

Parable of the harvest. The doctrine of hell. Which is easier, the fear of hell or the love of God? There is a draw upon all of us tonight. We have not tasted of the true nature of Christ. To obtain the kingdom of Heaven, we must sell everything that we have. If we give everything to Christ, we will receive Him. This can be a difficult choice for young people to make, but necessary. It is often in the midst of real trial that Christ is found. I forget the things behind and press on towards the goal – Christ Jesus. He is the pearl of greatest price.
