Podcast: Saturday 26th September, 2009

Monday, September 28th, 2009

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday September 26th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

Hebrews 10v32 – We live in an age when we throw out rather than mend items. This can spill over into our relationships. Marriages are not worked at, people move on. The church is to keep going on living for Christ. It is exciting when God is moving in the church, but in the quiet times you need to learn to endure. Moses was brought up and trained in Egypt. He did not forget his own people or his God. We need to face up to the sin in our past and accept forgiveness for it. Moses became meek but not weak in God. Yield to His call and endure unto the end. As we walk with God, He expects more from us. Patient endurance is what you need to know to do God’s will.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday September 19th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

Matt 15v32 – Jesus and the feeding of the people. Christ had gone into a remote place and the people followed. They didn’t want to leave Him. He had compassion on them. Where shall we find enough food (spiritual) when we are in our wilderness? Through the centuries, the church has lost its way due to lack of food for the people. We remember to feed our natural bodies. God knows us, and the need for spiritual food. There is a super abundance of spiritual food supplied for us. He would not send us away hungry lest we faint. We can take as much food as we need, the provision is made. The prodigal son – in my Father’s house there is enough food to spare. Christ said it – and again tonight. Even if you are far off from God, these words still stand true. How much stronger would our lives be if we learned how to eat properly of the spiritual abundance? Christ said – I am the bread of life. There can be a danger of following at a natural excitement instead of eating and drinking deeply of the spiritual food. The bread of life is the presence of God. It is available to us to eat of so that we might grow spiritually. Here we are shielded from the arrows of the enemy. Christ is the living manna that comes down now, that we may eat of. If we do not eat of the spiritual food we become weak and subject to sin and temptation. Eat that you might be strong in God and this will enable you to be faithful to Him to the very end. Christ knows the portion that you need, come and let Him feed you tonight.

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday September 12th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

Numbers 21v11 – Sunrise follows night – travelling into the light. The story of the possessed man and the swine herd – demon possession is glossed over. Demons are subject only to the name of Christ – that is a truth which has never changed. The villagers were afraid and begged Jesus to leave. There is a disturbance when Christ comes. Those who hold on to sin become disturbed in Christ’s presence – they want it to stop. The freed man begged to go with Jesus. He was told to spread his news. Are you ready for the coming of Christ? Are you holding on to sin?

Sunday, September 6th, 2009

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday September 5th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Miss J. Jack. Speaking Notes

Ruth 1&2 – Orpah returns to her homeland, but Ruth refuses. She is deeply committed and makes it her own individual desire. There are similarities with the story of Abraham – Ruth had to give everything, she counted the cost and set out in faith for Bethlehem. They arrived at the time of the first fruits which speaks of the Israelites arriving in the promised Land. She finds salvation from her situation in Boaz – she comes into her inheritance, even though she was a Moabite. She was brought right into the centre of Gods plan. Mary, the mother of Christ also journeyed to Bethlehem. She heard the words of the angel and accepted and embraced all that was to come. She committed herself to Gods way and found Him. We too must make a very individual and total commitment to God, to travel with Jesus and to give all without reservation. It is only as you do this that you arrive in your land of promise and find the breaking of the glory. You must let go of all obstacles – even in yourself. Get your eyes on to Christ and follow Him. In Him is fullness of life. Commit yourself to Him today – eternal life begins at salvation and deepens as you follow Him.

Tuesday, September 1st, 2009

This sermon was recorded on the evening of Saturday August 29th, 2009 at our Glasgow Church. The speaker is Mrs. G. Gault. Speaking Notes

John 11 – The comfort of God is not the same as man would give – it will last for a life time. We try in different ways to give comfort, but only God’s care lasts and effects change. Mary and Martha had a confidence in Jesus that he would do something for Lazarus. God gives us more than comfort, and will build us up and strengthen us. Paul had put his trust in God even unto the raising of the dead. Christ has power over all the taunts of satan, and wants His church to be free. How blind the Church of Christ is to Gods grace, power and freedom. Do not water down the gospel of Christ, even to young people or new Christians.
