[edit] 09/01/10: Mrs G Gault – Courage

  • 1 Kings 1 – David gathered those around him who were of like mind, and trained them to be the valiant of the valiant. The physical courage to stand for what is right. Adonijah reckoned that he would be king as David was dying. He did not invite those who would do right before God and David to his ceremony. Always be obedient to God and do the right thing. Solomon counted on those who would do the right thing and have tremendous courage. Take courage and be a man who is complete in Christ. Christ will give this courage in its completeness. To be a real follower of Christ you need to have an inside courage to stand against the devil and all his weapons. Courage, endurance and determination are what are required of you.

[edit] 16/01/10: Mrs G Gault – The face of Christ

  • 2 Cor. 3, Isaiah 52 & 53, Matt 16, Rev 20 – The veil has been taken away through Christ, and we see His glory. Look upon Christ and draw strength from Him. He was a man of sorrows and it could be seen in His face. In the church of Christ a type of counselling has crept in that is wrong and is not under the guidance of the Holy Spirit. When we look at the Man of Calvary we are opened up, healed and set free. His face shines as bright as the sun. Under His power many are laid prostrate before Him. The face of the One upon the throne of judgement – we flee from that one. Are you on the Lords side? Do you believe? The truth shall be made known unto you. He is the answer for all your pain and fears – do you believe?

[edit] 23/01/10: Mrs G Gault – Our inheritance in God

  • Deut 32 v 9, Joshua 14. The children of Israel chose areas of the land of promise for their inheritance. Caleb still desired the land he had spied out 40 years earlier – he was still strong. He subdued it and it became his. Caleb’s daughter asked for springs of water as well as the land for her inheritance – she was very particular about it. Levi’s inheritance was God. The Lord’s portion is His people. We are His portion – He has fought for us and laid down His life to find us and subdue our enemies. He is laying up an incorruptible inheritance for us in heaven, we can trust Him. He is preparing a place in heaven for each of us. We are His inheritance now – are you ready? We are called to freedom, not legalism, through the expulsive power of a greater affection. The city of God is the Bride of Christ – pure, holy and safe. He is the light of that city. Are you making preparations to become His inheritance? Look to Christ, be obedient and you will get to know Christ and see His face. Obedience leads to His light.

[edit] 30/01/10: Mrs D Rutherford – Deliverance

  • Luke 4 v 32. Satanic power is all around us. Many have a spirit of uncleanness. There is a feeling of discomfort when the light of Christ shines. Christ comes to destroy the wall of darkness within us. Many are freed with physical manifestations, but Christ is always in control. Self pity is a darkness. You have to make the choice to be freed. Sexual activity outside of marriage leads to demon possession. Even dabbling in unclean things leads to darkness. A renouncing of the things that are wrong is necessary. Anger, occult, drink, drugs, etc. cause people to lose control. Christ can utterly change your life until the old life becomes unrecognizable.
  • Sharon Healey – testimony to deliverance.

[edit] 06/02/10: Mrs G Gault - Sin & Healing

  • Numbers 33v50. Gods words and instructions to Moses were clear. They knew the land was occupied and they were told to drive out all the inhabitants. They were to make no treaties with them or their god or they would be defeated. They would be like splinters in their eyes. Gods instructions were literal, yet they also have a spiritual implication for us. We come so far and respond when the light of God is upon us – don’t stop there until you are completely free from unresolved areas in your life. Make no treaty with sin – base your treaties on absolute victory. To the one who repents much love is given. God is on your side to set your spirit free so that you can worship Him. If deliverance is needed, let it happen. We carry all sorts of scars that take hold upon us - these too we must bring to Christ that He may deal with them and set us free.
  • Isobel Fairgrieve – testimony to baptism in the Holy Spirit.
  • Jennifer Offord – testimony to healing.

[edit] 13/02/10: Miss J Jack - Travelling On

  • Exodus 19 & 34, Hebrews 10. We all travel on in life, it should be so spiritually as well. God met Moses in the desert at the burning bush, also on the mountain – each time he was met deeper by God and His glory. As we are filled with His glory it affects the meetings and those who come to it. Both the saved and unsaved find God and are drawn closer to Him. On the Mount of Transfiguration, Christ revealed some of His glory. To be able to transmit the power of Christ you need to be living in touch with Christ. We need to live in the realm of eternity to be able to bring it down.
  • Debbie Scorthorne – testimony to salvation.

[edit] 20/02/10: Mrs G Gault - Run to Christ

  • Numbers 35v9 – The law of Moses has made an impact upon the laws in Britain. There were six cities of refuge in Israel where a slayer could go to plead their case. Human life is precious to God, yet we value it as very low. The slayer could not leave the city of refuge until the High Priest died. Our High Priest – Christ – paid for us with His blood. We should run to Christ when we are in trouble. We often underestimate the power of God and we try other ways of help before going to God. Reference to the story of the prodigal son. As the son was accepted by the father, so are we.
  • Andrew Jewell – report of meetings in Keswick this week.

[edit] 27/02/10: Mrs G Gault - Love for Christ

  • Hosea 2v14 – God’s desire to renew the covenant with His people. Scotland is a covenanted country. People then had a real communion with Christ. There comes a point where a life makes a covenant with God, a point where they truly love Jesus Christ – a love that many have even died for. If you lack love for Christ be honest about it to God. Where there is a lack of Christ in the church, a coldness can come in. As the men on the road to Emmaus knew Christ at the breaking of the bread, we can know Christ at communion. Love comes in time of stillness and quietness.

[edit] 06/03/10: Mrs G Gault – Resist the enemy

  • 1 Peter 5. The early church did not always have an easy time. They were persecuted from outside and inside the church. Peter had to learn to resist the devil and stand steadfast in Christ. Reference to a pamphlet produced by the Christian Institute. The laws of our country give us freedom – but for how long? Satan knows your weakness and will target that area. You are to resist the devil and he will flee from you. Seek for a deeper anointing to take you through in the victory of Christ.

[edit] 13/03/10: Mrs G Gault - Endure to the End

  • 1 Samuel 17. David had fought the lion and the bears before he faced Goliath. David was in touch with his God and had a deep trust in Him. David stood up against the enemy of God and won the battle. We are to find that place of access to God and find communion with Him. We are also to be a channel for Him. David was hunted for many years by Saul, yet David kept true to God. When he sinned when he was king, he turned back to God - his heart was given to God and he endured. We are to be a champion for God. We have to endure spiritually. Take courage and fight for truth – be faithful.

[edit] 20/03/10: Mrs D Rutherford - Revival

  • Habb 3. Revive your work in the midst of the years. Do not let the church become complacent in God and in His outpouring. Why do we need revival? It will bring us up to the New testament standard and refresh us. The burden of prayer can come deeply in the church before an out pouring of God. On the day of Pentecost, the Holy Spirit came down mightily in power, sound and tongues of fire. Many souls were converted at that time. Reference to the Lewis revival of 1939 & 1949. The two old ladies who were prayer warriors. They were housebound, yet God used them in His work in Lewis. Take time to pray. Reference to the revival in Lanarkshire in 1905.

[edit] 27/03/10: Mrs G Gault – A second chance

  • Zechariah 3. There is a sense of hope in the God who renews. Satan accuses those in their filthy garments/sin. Zechariah represents the people. Last week Diana spoke of those living in revival power. Many faced failure and therefore the accusations of satan. They were encouraged to give up. We fail ourselves and God if we listen to that voice and self accusation. The example of Moses killing the Egyptian – yet God used him mightily. Someone once said “ My greatest ministry came from my deepest failure.” Example of Kathryn Kuhlman and her fall from grace and the subsequent revival that followed. God understood why she fell, but He had not finished with her at that point. He reached out and gave her a fresh start. Christ has stood for His people – we can live a revived life.

[edit] 10/04/10: Mrs G Gault - Power to the weak

  • Isaiah 40 - Power to the weak and strength to the powerless. They who wait upon the Lord will renew their strength. Spiritual warfare is very real. If we fight against the enemy we can receive wounds as Elijah did. He was met by God at his point of need both physical and spiritual. In the quietness God was revealed to him. There was work for him to do before God took him. Reference to the eagle and how it renews itself after finding a place of shelter alone and renewing its strength.
  • Martin Beesley – testimony to salvation and baptism in the holy spirit.

[edit] 17/04/10: Miss J Jack - Love for Christ

  • Revelation. There is something new transmitted into the atmosphere in these words to the church. Something comes through his voice and spirit as John describes his vision -he is alive. The words he speaks are appropriate for the church down through the ages. You are neither hot nor cold. You are wretched, poor, blind and naked. Turn from your indifference. This is an appropriate description for the way of today’s western church. They think that they have need of nothing and no real life about them. The real church in the new testament is what we would describe as being in a time of revival. This is the way the church should be. We need to open ourselves individually to Christ to see where we are spiritually, and be brought back into the place of aliveness and the power of His resurrection.
  • Trish Symes – Testimony.

[edit] 24/04/10: Mrs G Gault - Bear the Reproach

  • Luke 21 v 12, Hebrews – Go outside the camp and bear the reproach for Christ’s sake. Christ was taken outside the city wall and was crucified. This act fulfilled the word of God. We are to go outside the camp and bear the reproach of Christ. We are to carry our own cross, and go to a place of sacrifice where we become nothing and where all our ambitions are gone and Christ becomes our all. Example given of Hudson Taylor wearing the native dress of China. Other missionaries looked down upon him for this – he went outside the camp. This is a place where you will find Christ – outside the camp.
  • Agnes Kremling – testimony to deliverance from smoking.
  • Laura Wyllie – testimony to deliverance from a phobia of injections.

[edit] 01/05/10: Mrs G Gault – Pureness of heart

  • Proverbs 22v11, Judas betrayed the friendship of Christ, yet Christ is the friend of sinners. Abraham was the friend of God. Samson was to be the friend of God. He had a great start in life in the form of his parents and upbringing. Again and again God was gracious to him. We should not compartmentalize our lives in regard to God. We cannot have sin and uncleanness in one part of our lives and Christ in another. We need to hate iniquity and uncleanness. There must be a love of righteousness to have a hatred of uncleanness. Christ is the essence of purity. This is a positive quality that God wants in every part of our lives. Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God.

[edit] 08/05/10: Mrs G Gault - Spiritual Warfare

  • There is a place of rest inside, at the same time we could be at war on the outside. Are you willing to take part in the battle? It will change your spiritual life. Learn to carry the burden for other lives. There are many who want to do right but do not do it - others will make the effort to carry it out. We are all called to come closer to hear God for ourselves and yield our hearts to Him.
  • Duncan Finlay – testimony.

[edit] 15/05/10: Mrs D Rutherford – Abominations

  • Ezekiel 8. Fire cleanses, purifies and purges. Ezekiel saw One clothed in fire. God wants to uncover sin amongst us. Things from the past need to be dealt with. Drinking and alcohol are wrong, and we must take a stand against it - it is a stumbling block to ex-alcoholics. Often we are rebellious and independent and think we know better than our leaders. The church is meant to be like an army with banners, marching in purity and not afraid. An army must be separate unto God. A soldier wears a uniform – our uniform is the doctrine of God, Christ’s teaching – the whole armour of God. A soldier belongs to the army – we belong to God. He will dwell in us and walk amongst us. We must accept the leadership of those over us in the Lord, and take instruction. A soldier must behave appropriately – we must let our conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ. Don’t answer back or make excuses. We must all be of one mind – unified. We need to captivate our thoughts and focus on God. A soldier must be strong – we must have unwavering strength and a backbone of steel against temptation and the wiles of the enemy. Be wise to the fact that we are fighting against powers and principalities. Be ye separate unto God so that you can fight.

[edit] 22/05/10: Mrs G Gault - Hearing the voice of God

  • John 10. My sheep know My voice. David’s son Absalom spoke for the king and then against him. The teachings of man come between a soul and God. Gods voice is always one of hope. Conviction of sin is the beginning of hope. Man’s teaching usually brings bondage. The voice of God was familiar and comfortable to Samuel. God’s word brings life – the example of the disciples in the midst of the storm – peace, be still.

  • Graham Offord – testimony to salvation.

[edit] 29/05/10: Mrs G Gault – Who God is

  • 1 Samuel 4. The great unchanging God. He is the God who cannot be manipulated. The enemies of God had a better understanding of who, and what God was, better than His own people. They are not living right, and the temple worship was wrong. They didn’t realize they were living so far from God. People were treating the ark as a talisman. Their enemies were terrified when they saw the ark. There was no respect for the covenant – people died as a result. They are careless, even David’s perception of God was blurred. Christ is our ark of God’s covenant. Martin Luther’s resolve was not to be bothered by natural burdens. He is far more than our expectations. We must reverence Him and His presence.

[edit] 05/06/10: Mrs G Gault – The wages of sin

  • Genesis 4.Cain and Abel offered gifts to the Lord, only the one from Abel was accepted. Cain then committed the sin of murder, he did not listen to the word from God. Those who have been converted during a time of revival have been under deep conviction of sin and stay faithful to the calling of God. Man has a deep need for the cleansing of sin and to find peace with God. The question of sin is not taken seriously enough, but God takes it seriously - His Son died for us. The church of Corinth took the word of God and sorted the sin in the church. Do not be ashamed of the gospel of Jesus Christ – stand up in the midst of the people.

  • Diana Rutherford – report of Neath conference.

[edit] 12/06/10: Miss J Jack - Divine appointment

  • Psalm 27 - “My heart has heard you say ‘Come and talk with me’ – Lord, I am coming”. A divine appointment – have we kept appointment with God recently ? Jacob met God when he saw the ladder to heaven, Paul met God on the road to Damascus – Both are very much actions of God. Sometimes man is more involved, e.g. Ezekiel when he saw visions of God. He sought for many days until this moment. Moses turned aside to see the burning bush & met God. John spent many days in the spirit until the appointed time of revelation. For us, in the hum drum of life we keep turning to god, He will come to us at His appointed time. Never stop looking for & turning to God. Acts 16 & 27. Paul is in difficult circumstances & spiritual battle – prison & shipwreck. Even there they turned to God & remained faithful & God met them in power. They took ground inside themselves and had encounter with God and it affected others around them. God often has divine appointment in the midst of difficult circumstances and He will speak and change us. We need this again and again. Sometimes our appointments are in the Garden of Gethsemane where we say “not my Will, but thine be done” – no pride or self sufficiency. We need to come here often. We need to actually draw near to Jesus and look to Him – that is where the strength to do right things comes from.

[edit] 19/06/10: Mrs G Gault - Living in the anointing

  • Samuel 10 – The anointing of Saul to be king. Saul showed that he lacked understanding in God’s anointing. For a time he was a different person, but quickly returned to his own ways. We are totally dependant on the anointing. Are you a Saul – who forgets the power of the anointing? Are you a David – living in the anointing everyday? After the day of Pentecost the apostles were remarkably changed. Jesus lifts the burden through the anointing.
  • Shirley McFarlane – healing of leg.
  • Leah Marks – healing of slipped disc.

[edit] 26/06/10: Mrs G Gault – Freedom

  • John 8v31, Romans 6. There is salvation and freedom from sin. The New Testament world was full of slavery. Being subject to the Romans, they were familiar with the horrors of it. It was to these people that Christ spoke. Slaves, and everything that they had were owned by their masters. Christ said that everyone who sins is a slave to their sin. It has mastery and lordship over you – you cannot get free. We were born in slavery. Paul and Silas were free in spirit despite their circumstances in the jail. This freedom is available to us so that we are no longer slaves to sin. Becoming a slave to Christ will bring you into tremendous freedom. Reference to Duncan Campbell.

[edit] 03/07/10: Mrs G Gault - A channel for God

  • 2 Cor v4, Acts 6. We are to become a channel for God. All humans transmit something all the time – either good or bad. Example of bullying at a school many years ago where the fear moved from the victims to the perpetrators. What are you transmitting in this meeting, in the atmosphere? We should aim to be in God, but we also come with different needs. Stephen’s face shone like an angel, he transmitted God in the midst of trial. This is something that all of us can do, to transmit the love of God. References to Duncan Campbell and George Jefferies who were used by God to touch lives around them.

[edit] 10/07/10: Mrs D Rutherford - Watchmen

  • Isaiah 21 6-10 – The lookouts in Jerusalem were to report and to be alert. Over camp it is our job to be in the Spirit and to guard the church and our lives. Watch out for the enemy, his attacks are different for all of us and we must be ready. Listen out for the voice of the enemy and slam the door closed on it. Reference to James Frazer with CIM. The power of the Word of God breaks the darkness and the power of the enemy. Go out into the darkness and meet with God. Sometimes the attack is just a general feeling of being crushed – God is compassionate to us. Babylon, our great enemy and the darkness has fallen through the work of Calvary. We must come out of Babylon completely. We are victorious through Christ and Calvary- it is finished and our enemy is bound.
  • Elaine Black – report of youth camp.

[edit] 17/07/10: Mrs D Rutherford - joy of the Spirit

  • Psalm 126 – After camp we should be thankful to God. We should not take God’s presence for granted. Miracles are often taken for granted. We should be filled with joy for what has been done. Of the ten lepers, only one came back to say thank you. We should proclaim the great things of God. An unsaved friend of Graham Rutherford was amazed at the work of God at camp. Let us be found of God. We must have faith that He would do more. The way to abundance of Joy is found by the way of suffering. There were trials for many before camp. Let us build upon the victory.

[edit] 24/07/10: Mrs G Gault - Be not afraid

  • Matthew 14v22 – Christ was alone at night in the mountain praying, and His disciples were fighting heavy waves in the sea. Christ can seem not to be beside us when we are facing the seas of life. Christ said – take courage, I am here. This was a command, and His anger was ordered to the disciples. Peter was galvanized into action, ready to take the next step. It was the fear that began to make Peter sink, because of the storm. Immediately he cried out to Christ to save him. Fear causes havoc and chaos in our lives – this then becomes a potent weapon of the enemy. Fear of our weakness of what might happen – this causes us to sink in the uncertainness of what to do. It clouds our mind and brings a barrier between us and God. Stay alert, watch and pray. Peter was afraid in the garden – fear entered in, he didn’t know how to fight without a sword – he was told to watch and pray. Give all your worries and cares to God for He cares for you. Stand firm and steadfast in your faith. Christ said to Peter to take courage and fear not. The prowling lion, our enemy is afraid of the Lion of Judah. Our enemy looks for weak people or for the weaknesses in our lives. Don’t be afraid of what you are about to suffer.

[edit] 31/07/10: Mrs G Gault - thirsty for God

  • Isaiah 35 & 44 – Being thirsty for God. I will pour water on those who are thirsty, and upon the dry ground. When the garden is very dry it need floods of water. Your thirst for God can decrease if you are drinking of things of the world - you need living water. Sometimes it is important to have a time of silence so that you can hear the voice of God. Christ knows all about thirst and the thirst that men have. Those who have tired hands and weak knees will be strengthened – put your trust in God.
  • Andy Creighton – report from summer mission in Neath.

[edit] August

[edit] 07/08/10: Mrs A Speirs – Contemplation

  • Psalm 63. Returning from camp, we have seen the Lord and His power and glory – He came to us. It was in the moment of communion that the disciples on the road to Emmaus understood who He was. We saw Him at camp, and this is what we live for – this should encourage us all. We should stop and contemplate on all the good things God has done. Don’t rush back into the busyness of life. Give Him adoration and thanks for all He has done. The spiritual world is the real world – we must be in the world but not of it. Standing for Christ from the place of adoration is where anointing flows. Do not be careless – the devil is still out there as a roaring lion – only the power of a life in love with Christ will keep us. The expulsive power of a greater affection. Don’t leave what you have found of God and go back into the world.
  • Diana Rutherford – testimony to the inner side of deliverance at camp.

[edit] 14/08/10: Mrs G Gault - Pressing forward to God

  • After camp, satan tries to turn our eyes back to our daily lives - we run the risk of drifting about – the good can hide the best. Distractions can alter our course to God. Paul’s past was not a distraction to him, he pressed on. Looking in to the bright sun naturally dazzles us. Looking at Christ dims everything else around us. After camps, and finding ourselves back in our routines, we should not let ourselves be distracted.

[edit] 21/08/10: Mrs G Gault – The Great Commander

  • Psalm 35, Esther 9. David fights for righteousness and for God. We wrestle not against flesh and blood. Paul didn’t pray for righteousness against his enemies. Forgive – the new dispensation in the New Testament. Recognize that you are in a spiritual battle. Whether you like it or not there is a battle between good and evil – we are caught in the crossfire. We can have tremendous confidence in God our Great Commander. We have a greater Power than anything that can come against us. Our God is a terror to our enemies – do not underestimate Him, but have confidence in Him.

[edit] 28/08/10: Miss J Jack -Fresh Anionting

  • 2 Kings – Elisha needed a fresh move of God, he looked for the anointing that was on Elijah – the double portion. Do you have a hunger for more of the anointing of God, or has it dimmed? Seek for it to come. Do you cherish the anointing that God gives you? As you seek for it, it will deepen upon you. Do you have a thirst for more of God? In the life of God there is victory. God is always wanting to do a new thing.

[edit] September

[edit] 04/09/10: Mrs G Gault - Love of God seeks us

  • Ruth 1 – The love of God. On the road to consecration and Salvation there can come discouragement. Naomi told Ruth and Orpah to return, and Orpah did – Ruth remained loyal. Despite all the discouragement Ruth had a great inheritance. Ruth had to remain despite all of Naomi’s negativity. Moses also met discouragement on the way to Pharaoh. Elisha meets discouragement from Elijah before he gets the mantle. God allows obstacles to test one who sets out to obey the High calling. We must fight through and be resolute. At Peters reinstatement, Jesus got to the heart of what must be our motivation – a love for Christ - this is vital and must underpin everything. This love only comes as we are broken and know His love. The love of God seeks us and does not ever give up – it brings healing. Open your heart and let His love touch you – it will awaken desire, love and loyalty.
  • Paul Crosby – testimony.
